Our story

We are a small hobby breeder located in Limerick PA, 45 minutes out of Philadelphia, with over 30 years of bird experience.

We specialize in Peachfaced Lovebirds and Greencheek Conures, but occasionally have other babies available. Our particular interest is color mutations.

Our babies are handfed and well socialized, and raised with love. We strive to find the best homes for them, and will ask questions during the adoption process. As we are a small aviary, we generally have a waiting list for our babies.

Our birds are fed a primary diet of Zupreem Fruitblend (cockatiel size) and we ask that our babies will remain on a pelleted diet. There are many great pellets available. We picked Zupreem due to easy availability in all pet stores.

Sorry, we do not ship our babies.

Each baby is an individual, and our focus is to match it with the right household. While certain generic traits may be true for the species or gender, a baby will still develop an individual personality around weaning time. Some may turn into a more introverted spectator of the world, others are bold and feisty. Some love to snuggle, others are too busy to explore the world to sit still for long. Many will go through a nippy phase – our favorite saying is “All birds will bite. It’s just a matter of when, how hard and how often”.  Birds use their beak to test and explore everything. The better you learn and watch their body language, the easier it will be to avoid or modify negative behavior.

HOUSEKEEPING: A non-refundable deposit will reserve a specific baby for you. The balance will be due at Pick up. Pick up is required within 2 weeks from notification of weaning. As we are a closed aviary, and for our birds and your safety, pick up will generally be at a local well-lit public location. If the baby is not picked up in the agreed upon timeframe, it will become available to the next person on the waiting list and your deposit will unfortunately be forfeit.

Gender in some cases can be determined by the genetics of the set-up of the parents. We don’t usually DNA our babies, but if knowing the gender of your baby is important to you, let us know and we will DNA it for an additional charge. We use IQBirdTesting for DNA determination.

We only sell fully weaned babies. We will keep them for an additional week after they have refused formula regularly, just to make sure they are eating well on their own.

Once a baby leaves our home, we no longer have control over it’s environment and safety. Therefore we can’t give a health guarantee. If other birds are present in the household, we recommend a minimum of 30 day quarantine. While we are confident in the health of our babies, birds can get sick just like people, especially when stressed. We recommend taking the baby to a qualified avian veterinarian within 48 hours for a “well bird checkup”.  Please identify an avian veterinarian in your area prior to buying a bird, and make an appointment ahead of pick up.
